Brown University’s online Digital Health Innovation Certificate assembles top faculty and practitioners from our renowned School of Public Health, School of Engineering and the Warren Alpert Medical School with health-care professionals, engineers, researchers, regulators and entrepreneurs to improve health-care delivery through technology. You will gain a comprehensive understanding of the innovation process needed to go from idea to impact.
The Digital Health Innovation Certificate program prepares participants to meet the growing demand for technological advancement in the health-care sector. Participants who finish the initial three courses can then leverage their acquired knowledge to create a capstone project to be presented in a 10-minute pitch.
By the end of the four-course online certificate program, you will be able:
Analyze the current digital health landscape within the private, public and nonprofit sectors to identify opportunities and barriers within the space
Apply user-centered design-thinking practices to create high-quality, inclusive and user-friendly products
Identify relevant innovation funding sources to start your business design
Evaluate digital health products using evidence-based research for safe, effective, ethical and equitable use
Optimize outcomes for scalable deployment and broader adoption, including the pursuit of suitable regulatory pathways in the United States
Develop a commercialization and implementation plan that meets high clinical, technical, ethical, regulatory, and inclusivity standards
Earn Brown University credentials for each completed course and a certificate of completion upon program completion that carries the Ivy League reputation of academic excellence.

Earn Brown University credentials for each completed course and a certificate of completion upon program completion that carries the Ivy League reputation of academic excellence. In addition, all participants who successfully complete the certificate will earn 19.2 Continuing Education Units (Brown University CEUs). Brown University CEUs are calculated based on the number of learning hours in each course.
